Pastor Dwayne loves sports of all kinds, puzzles and home renovations.
He served the Evangelical Free Churches of Blue River and Fort St. John before coming to Smithers in 1996. Dwayne is married to his life-long companion, Marlena. They have 3 married children and four granddaughters.
Trevor grew up in Langley, BC, with his parents and younger brother. The family attended the Langley EFC, and taking part in Sunday School and Boys’ Brigade were highlights of the week, and through these ministries Trevor remembers trusting in Jesus as a child. When Trevor was about 12 years old, his parents’ marriage was struggling deeply, and the family stopped attending church services. Trevor’s parents divorced when he was 14.
After High School, Trevor moved to Vancouver and enrolled at the University of British Columbia in 1991. It was at UBC where he understood and embraced Christ as Saviour and Lord. He was baptized in 1994 and discipled while a part of the Navigators. It was also at UBC and in the Navigators Club where he met his wife, Bonita.
Trevor graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995, and he and Bonita were married later that year. After 4 years living in the Lower Mainland, they moved to Smithers, Bonita’s hometown. Trevor worked in sporting goods retail for 10 years in the Lower Mainland and then in Smithers. In 2005 Trevor received and accepted the call to pastor in Ashcroft, BC at Sage Hills Evangelical Free Church. The Brawdys pastored and lived in Ashcroft for a little over four years.
In 2009, Trevor and family came back to Smithers to become the Associate Pastor at the Smithers EFC. They have appreciated raising their three daughters (Molly, Eliyah, Cara) and two sons (Soren, Isaac) in Smithers and in the Smithers EFC.
